DIGITUUR (“Digital Nature”) is an attempt to imitate real physical nature with the use of digital software. The (online) installation marks how human life gets more and more separated from nature, especially in a time where coming together physically literally is forbidden. In this abstract virtual reproduction of nature, all sounds were made completely without the use of sound material coming from field recordings or nature sample-packs. All sounds are resynthesized and therefore an imitation of nature in stead of a direct recording. Interactions you would have in the real world are downgraded to just a few simple interactions like clicking and dragging with a minimalistic color scheme representing day and night or which region you’re in.
